The film follows Maha, one of the last children of a generation of Palestinian refugees living in the Balata refugee camp. When her blind grandfather becomes seriously ill, she comes up with a courageous and imaginative plan: to make him believe that returning to his homeland is finally possible. Through Maha’s eyes, the film explores memory, hope, family bonds, and the enduring longing for home.
Following the screening, we will open the space for a collective conversation about the film and the current situation in Palestine. We hope to create an atmosphere that encourages listening, dialogue, and mutual respect, where different perspectives can be shared thoughtfully and openly.
To conclude the evening, we will share a Palestinian meal together—a moment to connect, exchange experiences, and strengthen the sense of community that cinema can inspire.
We believe that stories have the power to bring people together, foster understanding, and create spaces for meaningful encounters. We would be honored to have you join us for this special event.
