On SATURDAY 27TH JANUARY, we invite you to attend the Oostende Film Festival to show our support for two short films directed by Cinemaximiliaan.

Orange Flavoured Love (2023), is Angela Al Souliman’s latest movie that we are all excited about to see. In war-ravaged Mosul, Iraq, Nawal cares for her ailing mother amidst scarce medicine. Despite the ongoing conflict, they find solace in simple joys like laughter, singing, dancing, and experimenting with make-up and perfumes during her mother’s final days.

We’re also very excited to see Karam Asoos’ A Troubled Man (2023) on the big screen for the first time. This short tells the story of a man, who when facing financial challenges and housing difficulties, opts for cohousing. However, a car accident triggers a growing sense of isolation as his housemates and family members appear to turn against him, leading to a deterioration of mental state.

We will meet at Cinemaximiliaan at 11:00 and travel to Oostende, De Grote Post together.
