Cinema Trottoir 2024

It has become a tradition to gather each year in summer around Cinemaximiliaan’s Film, Food & Friends Festival, CINEMA TROTTOIR. Let’s keep the fire burning for solidarity and openness towards Newcomers living in Belgium. So take a seat at our dinner table, share a good meal with us and have an enriching outdoor film experience on the ‘trottoir’ (the pavement) in front of our house in de Manchesterstraat 36 in Molenbeek. If it rains we’ll go inside, don’t worry.

CINEMAXIMILIAAN

brings newcomers and locals together through film and more

Cinemaximiliaan is a platform with and by newcomers. We started in 2015 with an open air cinema in an improvised camp at the Maximiliaan Park in Brussels, Belgium.

Our community quickly grew through the commitment of a vast network of volunteers, amongst them many newcomers.

PROJECT HOUSE

The Project House in Molenbeek is the beating heart of Cinemaximiliaan where volunteers and visitors stay over for and after events. It is here that people meet, share meals and work together on collaborations of artistic productions. It also houses the office of Cinemaximiliaan where the team, assisted by many newcomers, volunteers and interns, are working behind the screens. Cinemaximiliaan builds bridges for encounters and co-creation through which newcomers can continue their path in a new homeland.
